![]() ![]() They can monitor their own learning, ask relevant questions and use a range of strategies to decide what they know and what they need to do to discover new learning. In effectively utilising assessment outcomes and consistently seeking authentic feedback from teachers, students can use assessments as a tool for learning. Whilst the reports provide a summary of learning across the semester, it is hoped that students and parents have been monitoring student progress via regular communication with teachers and accessing results through SEQTA. We strive to create the conditions that allow student agency to flourish where students are inspired to shape their educational journey as they transition through the College to their future pathways. ![]() The engaging educational environment at Corpus Christi College, purposefully ignites an energy and enthusiasm for the discovery of new learnings in our students. We want students to become active learners who continually seek out ways to improve no matter what their level of achievement. We want to promote in our students the capacity for them “to learn to navigate by themselves through unfamiliar contexts, and find their direction in a meaningful and responsible way instead of simply receiving fixed instructions or directions from their teachers” (OECD). It is about acting rather than being acted upon shaping rather than being shaped and making responsible decisions and choices rather than accepting those determined by others”. Our aim is also for our students to be agents of their own learning which is defined by OECD as “the capacity to set a goal, reflect and act responsibly to effect change. ![]() We want our students to ask questions regularly and to seek out support from teachers at points of need. They key is to pause, reflect, evaluate and adjust current practice, and then set clear, measurable and achievable future goals to move forward. We promote the concept of a learning journey, implying that learning does not stop, rather it is continuous and cumulative, built on previous experiences and opportunities. The reports highlight a level of achievement at a certain point in time and are intended to prompt conversation around possible areas of improvement. To facilitate the reflection process, students will soon be receiving their Semester 1 Reports which will provide them with a clear guide as to how they are progressing from an academic and pastoral perspective. This of course applies to learning within the classroom but extends also to the many different holistic growth opportunities available for our students. Welcome to the final week of what has been a very busy and eventful semester, filled with a broad array of different growth opportunities for students across the K-12 College.Īs Term 2 draws to a close our students are encouraged to pause and look back over the first half of the year to consider what they have learned and what actions they would like to adopt to support their future growth.
